UNISALUTE

UniSalute (www.unisalute.it) was established in 1995 as part of a strategy to increase channel/product diversification.
Through UniSalute, the UGF Group supplies integrated healthcare services for the national healthcare system which, while supplying a wide range of what in many cases are high quality services, are still limited in terms of accessibility and service levels.
UniSalute supplies national healthcare services in its capacity as a managed-care provider by supplying quality services at contained prices through “collective” packages for public and private healthcare services. As such, the Company acts as a middleman between insurance holders and healthcare structures. However, it does not just supply medical consultancy services but arranges and pays for visits as well, thus covering the costs of these visits and helping customers choose the most effective solutions.
The Company closed the 2009 financial year with €160.4m in direct premiums collected and 3.6 million policyholders. The premium income saw a net prevalence of Healthcare insurance cover, with the remainder being Personal Accident and Tourist Assistance branches.
As at the end of 2009 the Company had 393 employees on its books. 34 physicians also work with UniSalute as consultants.
Today, the Company's portfolio is for the most part made up of collective policies stipulated by companies to provide healthcare cover to their employees within the scope of company contracts. UniSalute’s customers include Italian and foreign multinationals, banks and organisations.
UniSalute has introduced a guarantee of post-trauma psychological support, called ‘Ti vogliamo bene’. This is a first for Europe and is for now limited to policies distributed in the context of National Agreements (Coop, CNA, Confesercenti, CIA, CGIL, CISL and UIL members). The product provides for care under a psychologist specialising in emergency psychology and psychotraumatology. Indeed, concern for the physical consequences of a road accident is not enough; the psychological damage may significantly reduce the quality of life of the accident victim and that of members of their family.
