UGF MERCHANT
UGF Merchant, so renamed as from 23 February 2009, is the company in the UGF Banca Banking Group specialising in the corporate sector.
Established in 2002 following the transformation of Finec Merchant, in September 2003 the Company obtained authorisation to provide banking services from the Banca d’Italia and changed its name to 'Unipol Merchant – Banca per le Imprese S.p.A.'. From 2003, it integrated operations typically carried out in the merchant and investment banking sector with medium to long-term loans to companies.
UGF Merchant is also an adviser and financial partner to innovative businesses with high levels of growth needing financial assistance beyond their current funds (for example, listing on the Stock Exchange, mergers and acquisitions [M&A], structured finance).
During 2009 the Company conducted its lending activities to customers, reaching a level of corporate financing of €65m.
As at 31 December 2009 the Company had 52 employees on its books.
